Note: This document does not provide information about how to operate this machine. It only lists potential hazards associated with using the machine and safety practices. Before using the machine be sure to receive proper instruction on it's use.
Potential Hazards:
1. Entanglement in the blade or moving machine parts
2. Flying wood chips
3. Kickback of stock
5. Blade damage from foreign objects
Safety Practices:
1. Make sure the machine is setup correctly.
2. Make sure that all guards are in place.
3. Make sure you know how to perform the operation correctly.
4. Wear safety glasses at all times.
6. Roll-up long sleeves.
7. Do not wear dangling articles.
8. Secure long hair.
9. Never reach into the cutter opening between the tables.
10. Always keep your hands above the surface of the board.
11. Do not joint stock less than 12" in length.
12. Do not joint the face of stock less than 1/2" in thickness.
13. Use a push block when jointing narrow stock or the face surface of stock.
14. Do not joint the end grain of stock.
15. Never make cuts greater than 1/16 " for surfaces or 1/8" for edges.
16. Be sure stock is free of paint, nails, grit, loose knots, or foreign materials.
